When it’s 90°F inside your van and your dog is panting like a steam engine, fans just don’t cut it. That’s why we’ve been testing the new EcoFlow WAVE 3, and yep—this unit delivers.

It’s a portable AC and heater that doesn’t need to be bolted down or wired into your van’s soul. Just plug it into a wall, solar panels, or EcoFlow’s chunky 1024Wh battery and go.

Whether you’re in the desert, a rainy forest, or parked outside Grandma’s house—this thing gets the job done.

Why we love it:

  • Blasts out cold: 6,100 BTUs will drop the temp by 15°F in 15 mins (ideal for vans, tents, or small cabins).
  • Also heats: 2,000W heat pump to cozy up those crisp mountain mornings.
  • Off-grid ready: Solar compatible + the battery lasts ~7 hours in Eco Mode.
  • Smart AF: App lets you control it remotely + has Pet Mode to keep your furry co-pilot comfy.
  • Quiet: Maxes out at 58 dB, which is about the volume of light rain.
  • Light enough to haul (if you workout, lol): 55 lbs with the battery—dual handles make it doable (but yeah, wheels would’ve been nice).

It’s efficient, reliable, and flexible, and the heating function means it’s not just a summer-only gadget, making the price tag more palatable.

And that USB-C port on the battery is for charging your phone or laptop while the AC hums away in the background.

Downsides?

Still a bit hefty, and you’ll need to store both the unit and the battery. But considering it replaces your heater, AC, and dehumidifier? Worth the space - and it's actually very small.

Our verdict

If you’re full-timing, weekending, or just don’t trust the weather forecast anymore, the EcoFlow WAVE 3 is a legit upgrade to your van or off-grid setup.

🔥 Early bird price: $1,299 from ecoflow.com for the unit with the battery. Way less than installing a full RV AC system. This deal runs April 25–May 25 at ecoflow.com - after which the price will go to $2,198.
