Why we started this site
Back when we were converting our first van, we had a million questions and not enough real answers.
So we decided to document the process, the gear, the mistakes, and all the little tricks that make life on the road better.
Today, Campers and Camping is about more than just van builds. It’s a resource for all kinds of campers — tent campers, weekend road trippers, full-time RV dwellers — anyone looking to simplify life and spend more time outdoors.

👋 I’m Alastair
I’m usually the one behind the camera and the keyboard — filming gear reviews, documenting our travels, and writing guides for other folks chasing an untethered lifestyle.
If you're into running, you may already know me 'Alastair Running'; my running shoe and gear review blog and shoe review youtube channel.
You may also know me from Trail & Kale, a website where we both write (and film) outdoor gear reviews, talk about clean nutrition, help others live a healthy lifestyle, and discover all the best dog-friendly adventure gear.
Campers and Camping (originally 'Sprinter Campervans') is where all our van life and camping content now lives.
I’ve always been drawn to the open road — not for the destination, but for the space it creates to think, explore, and just be me...

Helen keeps things organized and real. She’s the detail-spotter, the list-maker, and the one who asks “but will this actually work at a campsite?” before anything makes it into a guide.
Together, we balance creativity and practicality to bring you honest, helpful content that we wish existed when we first began our van life journey.

Trail dog, campsite supervisor, and our chief adventure officer.
If a product survives Kepler, it’s probably built to last. He comes with us on most trips and has strong opinions on anything that moves fast, or looks out of place - yes, he's a Border Collie.
